For 2007 Nikon has re-engineered its entire Monarch riflescope line, utilizing a new optical system created for increased mounting and application versatility. While maintaining the American-preferred one-inch-diameter main body tube, engineers developed the new scopes to minimize overall length and maximize mount-spacing capability. The resulting line pushes the envelope of optical performance with lead and arsenic-free Eco Glass lenses and NIkon’s trademark Ultra ClearCoat antireflective multicoatings.
In addition, the 2007 Monarch design now includes a new Monarch Eye Box with an impressive four-times zoom range and a very comfortable four inches of eye relief that remains constant throughout the power range without sacrificing field of view. Most competitive riflescopes supply less than three-times zoom capability and eye relief that varies by as much as a full inch between high and low powers. The Monarch’s massive ocular also delivers both a large high-resolution sight picture and the maximum field of view corresponding to each power setting. As an additional convenience feature,

Nikon has placed rear-facing magnification indicators on the zoom control and included a quick-focus eyepiece on the new eye box. All new Monarch riflescopes feature the company’s new Interchangeable Turret Technology system, which allows shooters to switch out turret knobs and caps for maximum convenience and versatility. Monarch 2.5-10x42, 2.5-10x50, 3-12x42SF and 4-16x42SF models offer quarter-MOA adjustments and can be customized with accessory target-style windage and elevation adjustment knobs and caps. The 5-20x44SF and 6-24x50SF models offer eighth-MOA adjustments and include low-profile adjustments with caps, target-style high-profile knobs with caps and tapered, easy-grip knobs.
Models with magnifications exceeding 10X also feature a locking side focus knob on the left side of the adjustment turret. This ergonomically positioned control allows for precise parallax adjustment at virtually any range from fifty yards to infinity. In addition to the BDC reticle, Nikon’s other reticle styles are also available: Nikoplex, Mildot, Fine Crosshair and Fine Crosshair with Dot.
